Review: LEADTEK 285 GTX

LEADTEK 285 GTX

NVIDIA has lucratively employed their 55 nm production process for the GT200 GPUs resulting in the GTX 285. The card presents additional performance, consumes less power and is noiseless compared to the previous model. The clock increases output by about 5%, with the lead getting better at higher resolutions. NVIDIA switch-over to 55 nm allows roughly 10% in die production cost savings which gives them a clear advantage to compete against ATI products with price-cuts.

The Leadtek 285 GTX has a lot to offer in its robust package. It is packed with PCI Express 2.0 GPU (GPU/Memory Clock at 648/2484 MHz), which is the support platform for next generation PCs. With a 1024MB, 512-bit memory interface, the card provides a sleek, pragmatic gaming exposure at Ultra-High Resolutions /AA/AF gaming. The card is juiced with the 3-way NVIDIA SLI technology, which offers an incredible performance. With this card, one can get the most unbelievable Blu-ray and HD DVD Movie experience on a Gaming PC. NVIDIA PhysX Ready enables a completely new level of physical gaming interface for a more lively and realistic experience with Geforce. The Dual Dual-Link DVI feature supports hardwares with breathtaking 2560 x 1600 resolutions, such as the 30-inch HD LCD Display, with gigantic load of pixels.

The card also features ample of gear like PCI Express 2.0 Support, GigaThread Technology, NVIDIA Lumenex Engine, High-Speed GDDR3, Dual 400MHz RAMDACs, High dynamic-range (HDR) Rendering, NVIDIA® PureVideo , OpenGL 2.1 Optimizations, etc.

The Leadtek WinFast GTX 285 is in the league of the fastest graphic cards in the market today and has processing power that was inconceivable just a short time ago. It’s probably the best overclocking video cards to ever hit the market, adding to an immense value to an already amazing card. The hushed fansink on this card is hardly audible at its default setting, but if you want crank it up while gaming it will lower the card’s temperatures a bit.
