Rajinikanth, a superstar who needs no introduction, recently opened up about his personal life in a candid chat. While the megastar doesn’t often speak up about his life, revealed an unknown journey of how he had been influenced by bad company and also, how his wife Latha supported and changed his habits over time with her love.

In an interview with a Tamil daily, Rajinikanth was seen speaking about his earlier days with brother-in-law and actor-comedian Y G Mahendran, wherein he revealed how he introduced Rajini to his wife Latha. Thanking him for doing so, the megastar opened up about his old days and the way he was influenced by bad habits saying, “When I was a bus conductor, due to the friendship of some wrong guys, I had many bad habits. I used to eat mutton twice a day. I used to drink daily, and I don’t know how many cigarettes I smoked. After coming to the cinema, with money and fame, imagine how much these would have increased.”

He continued, “Daily morning I wanted to eat mutton paya, appam, and chicken. I used to look down upon vegetarians. I used to wonder what they actually ate. Honestly, cigarettes, alcohol, and meat are a dangerous combination. Those who do all this without a limit, have not lived healthily even till 60. Many have faced so many health issues before they turned 60. There are many examples. Let’s not mention them,”

However, he thanked YG Mahendran adding, “He got me married to her. I am 73 years old now, and the reason for my health is my wife.” He added, “She was the one who changed me with her love. With love and the right doctors, she changed me. Thanks to YG Mahendra for that.”

Rajinikanth is gearing up for the release of Jailer which is also expected to feature Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film is also expected to star Trisha Krishnan, Priyanka Mohan, Ramya Krishnan, among others.
