It was double whammy for Ganesh Hedge as his song 'Chammak Challo' not just won the Best Music Video but also the Best Choreographed Song by a very big margin with 32 % of the votes.
On his second win an ecstatic Ganesh gave us a very interesting story about the origin of the song, "Akon was here only for one song and that was 'Criminal'. I had gone to the studio to listen to 'Criminal', I heard it and thought that it was a very good song and then suddenly Akon's right hand man started playing this loop and I heard it and said 'Damn this makes me wanna dance'. I immediately called Shah Rukh and told him that this guy is playing some loop, I don't know what this is but this loop is going to be a blockbuster and whatever we make with this song is going to be great. Somehow these guys had already heard the loop and overnight Vishal and Shekhar came up with the phrase 'Chammak Challo'. So I think this song was bound to be a blockbuster for 2011 because the song was not in the script and it was made in just one day."
Speaking on the choreography he said, "Shah Rukh was very keen on doing a song like 'Nakka Mukka'. The song is set in a south Indian party where G.One, who is a video game character, can look at a dance form and get it, so as he comes across a group of dancers who are performing Bharatanatyam, he just looks at them starts doing Bharatnatyam."
The first runner-up in this category was 'Ooh La La' from The Dirty Picture which got 14% votes. The song with Vidya Balan's enticing steps got the audience going crazy and asking for more. -

Best Soundtrack
The winner of the Best Soundtrack of 2010 is Rockstar, an album which picked up slowly but had more than a dozen gems by the music maestro A.R.Rahman himself. With tracks like 'Sadda Haq', 'Jo Bhi Main', 'Katiya Karun', 'Kun Faya Kun' amongst others, Rockstar was the clear winner in this category with a whopping 46% of surfers voting for the album as the Best OST of the year.
Following Rockstar was the soundtrack of SRK starrer Ra.One which got 16% of the votes. The album composed by the talented duo of Vishal-Shekhar had the biggest chartbuster of the year in Chammak Challo.
Since 8 out of the top 10 soundtracks of 2011 belong to the T-Series label, it is but natural that T-Series is the 'Music Company of the Year'.
Talking about this, the head honcho of T-Series, Bhushan Kumar said, "It's a really proud moment that a vast majority of the Top 10 Soundtracks of 2011 are from the T-Series label. This just goes on to show that audience has really loved our music through the year. We will continue to set such high standards in 2012 as well." -

They say words make a song and if that's true then the Best Lyricist category surely is an important one. This year the winner of Best Lyricist was Shabbir Ahmed who wrote those beautiful lines in the romantic song 'Teri Meri' from Bodyguard. Shabbir bagged 27% of the votes to emerge on top of the list.
When Bollywood Hungama called up Shabbir to congratulate him on this honour, he said, "I am thrilled with this honour bestowed upon me by Bollywood Hungama surfers. I am grateful to my parents and also Himesh Bhai and Salman Bhai who gave me the chance to write lyrics for a song like 'Teri Meri'. Usually I have mainly written item numbers like 'Kaal Dhamaal, 'Tauba Tauba', 'Its Rocking', 'Dil Mein Baji Guitar' and even the recently released 'Bipasha' song from Jodi Breakers. It's the first time that I got a chance to write a soft melodious number like 'Teri Meri' and I am thankful to Himesh Bhai and Salman Bhai for trusting me. I would like to thank all the people who have liked my song and voted for me as Best Lyricist. Since these are awards voted for by the audience, I am happy that it's a fair result. Inshallah this year too I have some good songs in films like Dangerous Ishq, Department, Khiladi 786, Zila Ghaziabad, Maximum, Son Of Sardar, Tezz etc. and hope the audience continue to like and appreciate my work. This will only motivate me to work harder."
The runner-up in this category was Irshad Kamil who bagged 20% votes for his lines in 'Nadaan Parnidey' from Rockstar. -
