Sonakshi Sinha (Dabangg)

Sonakshi's was by far the most talked about debut this year. After all she does come from an illustrious filmy family having legends such as Shatrughan and Punam Sinha as her parents. The fact that she was making her debut opposite one of the biggest superstars- Salman Khan only added to the hype. Everyone was curious to know if this girl could deliver the goods. When Dabangg opened during Eid, all speculations were put to rest. While it was a Salman Khan show all the way, Sonakshi did make her presence felt through her strong portrayal of the village belle Rajjo. Her performance was appreciated by one and all and before you could say 'Sonakshi', the pretty actress had already bagged some big films like Joker and Race 2.

When the promos of Salman Khan starrer Veer first came out, everybody was taken by surprise at the uncanny resemblance the leading lady Zarine Khan had with Salman's then real life love interest Katrina Kaif. Tongues even started wagging if that was the reason for her bagging the film. However, when the film opened, people got a glimpse of Zarine's acting prowess. Her portrayal of the feisty Princess Yashodhara reiterated the fact that she was indeed perfect for the part. Despite Veer not doing so well at the Box Office, Zarine was appreciated.
