“KANK doesn’t have solutions to failed marriages, but it does raise a few right questions”
Human relationships have always perplexed me. These seemingly simple bonds between people can amount to so much and cause such upheaval that lives change drastically with a minute change in these equations. Especially in a fast changing world of today, such changes seem magnified hundred fold forcing us to question our age old definitions of relationships and commitment.
The seed for Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (KANK) was born somewhere from these thoughts. The alarming statistics of failing marriages in the recent times, often made me wonder about the relevance of the institutions to our society today. With men and women handling far more responsibilities than what was conventionally assigned to them centuries ago, it is natural for them to expect more from life for themselves. So in this complex scenario how much does one compromise on self-gratification for the sake of commitment? Or should one compromise at all?
Not that I have found solutions while making the film but even if I don’t have the right answer, I’m glad that I could raise a few right questions through KANK and I sincerely hope that the movie, apart from fulfilling its apparent role of entertainment also inspires people to look into their relationships to resolve their issues..! - Preity Zinta as Rhea Saran Confident, Read More">savvy and with a strong sense of right and wrong… Rhea Saran leads a straight forward life where her promises and expectations are clearly chalked out.
