The grand finale however was reserved for the Youth Anthem of the year- 'Sadda Haq'. Ranbir made a stunning entry atop a crane which took him right above the crowd gathered. He later strummed the guitar with the same intensity that his character Jordan displays in the film. Ranbir was joined on stage by the entire team including Nargis, Rahman, Mohit Chauhan, Monica Dogra, Harshdeep Kaur for the final track of the night-
'Sadda Haq'. The actor even pulled up a few fans on stage, who simply went crazy standing up, close and personal with their favourite star.
Surely this was one Rocking concert which Mumbaikars won't forget for a long time to come. However with a bit more rehearsals and fine tuning, this would have been the concert of a lifetime.
Next up was Mohit Chauhan, who has sung most of the songs in Rockstar. Wearing his trademark cap, Mohit began with 'Phir Se Ud Chala' and followed it up with 'Jo Bhi Main' and 'Tum Ho'. Mohit was expected to bring the house down with his performance, however sadly, the versatile singer was not in the best of form and did sound a bit off-key on more than one occasion. Mohit's act was followed by a much better performance by Punjabi singer Harshdeep Kaur who had the audience dancing to the beats of 'Katiya Karun'.
When you have the greatest musical maestro sharing stage with the heartthrob of the nation, one can expect nothing but sheer hysteria. This was what happened last night at the Bhavans College Grounds in Mumbai where, despite a few technical glitches, the crowd went crazy watching Academy Award Winner A. R. Rahman perform with Ranbir Kapoor at the Rockstar concert.
The event began with Ranbir Kapoor making a star-studded entry much to the delight of thousands of screaming young fans. Ranbir mouthed a few lines from his film Rockstar and the crowd simply went berserk.
Post this was a special act where Ranbir was joined by his co-star- the gorgeous Nargis Fakhri. Dressed in a pink gown, Nargis looked stunning as she performed a passionate number with Ranbir on the romantic track 'Aur Ho'. The chemistry between the duo was simply electrifying. However Nargis was hardly seen after that and re-surfaced only towards the end of the show. Surely we would have loved to see more of Nargis Fakhri.
However the highlight of the evening was the performance by A. R. Rahman. The Academy Award Winner, who has not performed at a live concert in Mumbai for a long time, was in top form last night. Rahman first had the audience mesmerized with his rendition of the spiritually uplifting 'Kun Faaya Kun'. He later himself looked like a 'Rockstar' as he performed to 'Nadaan Parinde' along with Mohit Chauhan. The only glitch in Rahman's performance was when there was some issue with the piano before 'Tum Ho'. Rahman smartly used the time in between to interact with the audience and even belted out a few lines of his international track 'Satyamev Jayate' from his 'SuperHeavy' album.
