Aamir visited the famous floating vegetable gardens in Dal Lake. He waved out to hundreds of fans who had turned up to see him.
After his visit to the Dal Lake, he told reporters "I think more and more shooting of films should take place in Kashmir as was the case in the good old times. It will be great as it is so beautiful out here."
Aamir arrived in Srinagar on Wednesday and visited places including the world famous tourist resort Sonamarg, Gund, Memer and Kangan.
Speaking about his visit, Aamir said, "I have come to Kashmir after more than 10 years. Last time I came here to shoot Mann in 1998. The place is wonderful, the people are nice and hospitable," he added.
Aamir Khan visited the scenic Kashmir Valley for a two day trip to promote tourism in Jammu and Kashmir. He even shot in the house of a local artist Ghulam Nabi Khatana. Aamir did not divulge any details of his reason to visit the Valley, but according to sources, he shot for an ad campaign for Incredible India.
