Last week's release Badmaash Company starring Shahid Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Vir Das and Chang has opened to a good response. The film, directed by debutant director Parmeet Sethi and produced by Aditya Chopra, is the story of 4 friends who dream of making it big in life and end up doing all the wrong things the right way. Those who have seen the film will vouch for the fact that the awesome foursome share brilliant chemistry. With a young team, there was always a lot of 'Badmaashi' on the sets amidst all the serious work. We got talking with director Parmeet Sethi who gave us some interesting dope on all the fun this gang had while shooting. So over to you Parmeet...

"This image here shows the first shot being taken in the American schedule. In the film, it is the intermission sequence where the 4 main characters - Karan, Bulbul, Zing and Chandu arrive in America. The whole unit was jetlagged after a 24 hour flight from India. Chang and Vir were so sleepy that they went off to sleep in their cars! This turned into a hilarious situation because the Assistant Directors kept looking for them for more than an hour. You can see Sanjay Kapoor (the DOP) in a similar situation."

However, in the film, it's supposed to be summer so to make it comfortable for the actors, the production organized 6 big heaters to keep the balcony and the room warm. I made changes in the scene and so an exterior scene was shifted to an interior one. This is the scene where the 4 plan their final and biggest scam."

This sequence was shot throughout the night and this was the last shot taken at 6 am - the whole unit was sleepy but I wanted a feel of real time in the film, I actually wanted Shahid to look tired and frustrated after losing all night."

There were a lot of difficulties while shooting this scene because Times Square is the busiest area of Manhattan with people from all the over the world. The funny incident was that Shahid and I were mobbed by the Indian tourists and they thought that I was an actor and not the director. In fact, they kept shouting "Kuljeet, Kuljeet" (the character I portrayed in DDLJ)."
