After receiving an unprecedented response for the first part of A Sneak Peak into the Movies of 2009, as promised, we are back with the second part. With some big films that may change the face of Indian cinema or a few lesser known ones that will be spoken about in glowing terms for their content-n-entertainment. Owing to a hurricane-like feedback from production houses, movie going public and PRs (A few of them are finally waking up to the fact that news channels and tabloids are not the end of the world) we will be coming out with the third part of this feature. So guys if a few of the names are missing just hang on, more goodies are being gift-wrapped for you and will be coming your way soon. For now, smell-n-taste these cookies...
Three Idiots
This one's surely one of the biggest attractions of 2009. Superstar of perfection Aamir Khan joining hands with creative-n-commercial genius director Raj Kumar Hirani is a momentous event in itself. Hugely talented Kareena Kapoor finally manages to live-her-dream of working with Aamir after the hiccups of Mr Mehta and Mrs Singh and Lajjo. Sharman Joshi, Madhavan and Boman Irani are super-kicked about this Vidhu Vinod Chopra Production. Bestselling Author Chetan Bhagat admitted to us that the film is based on his novel Five Point Someone but a representative from the Production house denied the same. Nevertheless it's one of the most eagerly awaited films of year 2009.

Shahid Kapoor is one of the very few stars today who enjoys a huge unadulterated popularity. So, even his cameo (he plays a teacher and so does Ayesha Takia) in Paathshala has generated a lot of buzz. And then there's irrepressible Nana Patekar who can be a treat any day. Produced by choreographer Ahmed Khan's wife Shaira and directed by Milind Ukeye, Paathshala is having Indian Education system as its backdrop and is said to be a nice blend of drama, comedy and social relevance. Masti ki Paathshala....anyone...

After giving smash hits like Masti and Dhamaal, its makers Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria are back again with their latest offering Daddy Cool. If the name is any indication of how 'cool' the film will be, then, its starcast will surely pack you off to a freezer, for it features a 'gang' of Bollywood actors like Suneil Shetty, Aashish Chaudhary, Aftab Shivdasani, Chunky Pandey, Javed Jaffrey, Rajpal Yadav, Kim Sharma, Sophie Chodhry, Aarti Chhabaria, Tulip Joshi...phew...and many more! Like all their films, music surely forms a vital element in Daddy Cool too, with the highlight this time being Raghav Sachar's musical re-arrangement of the global smash hit track 'Daddy Cool' by Boney M!

There are no ifs but only Bhatts when it comes to repeatedly having Jashn at the Box Office, defying all odds and star-pandering. Starring Adhyayan Suman, Anjana Sukhani and ingeniously talented Shahana Goswami, Jashn is being directed by director-duo Raksha Mistry and Hasnain Hyderabadwala (of Killer and The Train fame). Knowing the Bhatts, the music, will hopefully cling-on-to-the-ears for long and there will be enough fuel for the public to have a Jashn once they're out of theatres.
