There weren't any major surprises when it came to those leading ladies who found their way into the Top-10 charts. The ones who have been doing consistently well over a period of time (Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif) continued to rule from the top, an unusual suspect like Anushka Sharma made her way in (Band Baaja Baaraat, Badmaash Company) while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was out of it with three flops in a row (Raavan, Action Replayy, Guzaarish).
Kareena Kapoor
Golmaal 3 - Blockbuster We Are Family - Average Milenge Milenge - Below average
Kareena Kapoor has a knack of picking up projects which do guarantee some level of success. She wanted herself to be the only actress in Golmaal 3 and had her way. No wonder, she is the one who is smiling most with the film turning out to be a blockbuster success. She also attempted a tear jerker and found mild success coming her way with We Are Family. Credit it to her star power that even her half a decade old film Milenge Milenge eventually managed to sail through.
Want someone to perform? Then bring on Vidya Balan. Being overtly selective about the choices that she makes, Vidya Balan held on to her horses despite the massive appreciation that she received for Ishqiya. The film was also one of the only few successful outings of the first half of 2010. A seductress to the core, she didn't quite go on a signing spree and concentrated entirely on No One Killed Jessica. One hopes though that she would be more than just a yearly arrival and is seen more often.

Anjaana Anjaani - Above average Pyaar Impossible - Flop
Priyanka Chopra had more or less a forgettable 2010 though she could take solace from the fact that her Anjaana Anjaani did manage a very good opening for itself. Of course Anjaana Anjaani couldn't quite sustain itself for weeks to come but Priyanka was noticed for her convincing act. Also, her name in the credits ensured a certain weight to the project. This wasn't the case though in Pyaar Impossible where she was roped in to add star value to this Uday Chopra comeback. This move by Yash Raj Films didn't quite work and now Priyanka is banking on some exciting projects that she has in hand in 2011.
It is always an honour for a debutant to make her way straight into the Top-10 charts. In that context, Sonakshi Sinha is really fortunate as she had a Dabangg to her name in her very first big screen experience. Of course even she would agree that Dabangg wasn't quite a film that allowed her to show multiple facets of her acting personality. However, it was a positive start after all and now it is up-to her to build a career from this point on.
Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai - Hit No Problem - Flop Knock Out - Flop Kites (special appearance) - Flop
If there is one girl who is on a signing spree by dozens, it is Kangna Ranaut. Don't be surprised by the volume of releases that she had in 2010. She may have had four films of hers arrive in the year gone by but the volume isn't going to decrease over next two years at the least. Her only calling card in 2010 was Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai which was a clean hit though she was criticised massively in both No Problem as well as Knock Out. Still, this petite girl could well have people sing a different tone once she brings out some new goodies out of her bag in 2011.
