Produced by Namit Malhotra and directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is among the major film releases planned for 2026. The film has drawn attention with the release of its promotional material, including its teaser and trailers. The team recently gathered in Bengaluru for the launch of its second trailer, where Yash, who is backing the project through Monster Mind Creations, spoke about the vision behind the two-part epic.

During the event, Yash emphasised that the team views the film as more than a conventional cinematic project. He also highlighted the role of devotion in bringing the story to the screen and explained that sharing the Indian epic with international audiences has been a central part of the team's approach.

He said, “Everyone has spoken about the film. You all have an idea. But I would like to say a few things. Ramayana. We have not treated it like a movie. Everyone who has come here is an artist. Everyone has got an opportunity through devotion. We have all worked with the vision that our story should be told to the world.”

Yash also addressed questions about the decision to present the Indian epic on an international scale. He said that while India's identity remains central to the project, it is equally important for the country to share its cultural heritage and history with a wider audience.

“Many people might ask, what happened? Why did you make it international? First India, right? India is important. But I think, as Indians, we all have to understand how much we respect ourselves, how much we respect our culture; at the same time, we should let the whole world know what we are made up of, what we represent, and who we truly are. What is our history? What is our culture? If someone else says it, you cannot say it. Or if we sit here and say we are good in our own way, it is of no use,” Yash stated.

Through his remarks, Yash underlined the importance of presenting Indian stories to a global audience while retaining their cultural roots. The makers aim to combine large-scale filmmaking, visual effects and storytelling to bring the epic to cinemas worldwide.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG, which has won eight Academy Awards, and Yash's Monster Mind Creations. Planned as a two-part cinematic adaptation, the film will release worldwide in IMAX.
