Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon are gearing up for the release of their upcoming film, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, and the movie's unique title has sparked conversation. In a recent interview with Film Companion, Kapoor addressed the title's length, drawing parallels to iconic Bollywood films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) and Jab We Met.

Kapoor acknowledged that titles deviating from the norm can raise eyebrows. He mentioned DDLJ as an example, stating, "I remember when DDLJ came out...all the titles were like Ghatak, Ghayal, Jeet...and then this one long title came. Everybody was discussing 'it's too long, we don't know what they are saying' but for a love story, I feel it's okay to have slightly longer titles." Despite initial skepticism, DDLJ, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, is now considered one of Hindi cinema's most beloved films.

Kapoor further shared his experience with Jab We Met, another film he starred in. "When I did Jab We Met, everyone was like 'what is this title?' Because at that time, this whole thing of Hindi-English, like putting a Hindi and an English word in one title, was not a thing," he recalled. However, the Imtiaz Ali-directed film's title has since become widely recognized and even considered "classic.”

Regarding Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Kapoor admitted, "We were prepared that [questions about the title] would happen for a bit." He expressed confidence, however, stating that the title resonates with the film's essence.

Speaking of the film, the romantic drama will release on February 9 in theatres. Written and directed by Amit Joshi, it also stars veteran actor Dharmendra in a pivotal role.
