Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming romantic comedy, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, opposite Kriti Sanon. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Shahid reflected on his trajectory in Bollywood, emphasizing the importance of reinvention and the pursuit of artistic depth over stereotypes.

The actor, who transitioned from his early days as a romantic hero to exploring darker and edgier roles, underscored the necessity of steering clear from the comfort of cliches in order to sustain long-term success in the dynamic landscape of Indian cinema. Shahid said, “When I did Ishq Vishq, the word that was associated with me was ‘chocolate boy.’ I felt extremely bad, I wondered what did that even mean, ye chocolate boy hota kya hai? I am an artiste, I want to express, I am not here only for visual gratification. Looking good, dressing well, etc are just one layer, then you have to dig deep and I started doing just that. I completely changed myself, I didn’t want to be clean shaven and do the same thing. That became exciting for me.”

Talking about the film, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, is slated to release in theatres on February 9, 2024.
