Her brief comment indicates that her portions for Ramayana: Rise of a Legend Part 2 are yet to be filmed. The revelation comes shortly after Part 1 held its world premiere at the David Geffen Theatre inside the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on October 27.
Ramayana Part 2 is scheduled for 2027
Ramayana: Rise of a Legend is planned as a two-part adaptation of the Indian epic. While Part 1 is scheduled to release in 2026, the second instalment is planned for release in 2027.
The project features Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, with Sunny Deol playing Hanuman. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film is being produced by Namit Malhotra, with Yash also involved in the production. The project brings together Indian and international talent, including composers Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman and visual effects company DNEG.
The Los Angeles premiere was held as an invite-only 3D screening, with the cast attending the Diwali-themed red carpet. Ranbir, Sai Pallavi and Yash were among the stars who walked the carpet, while several international guests were also present.
Sai Pallavi's latest comment provides an update on the production timeline for the second part, suggesting that her work on the sequel is still to begin despite the planned 2027 release.
