Ranbir Kapoor talks about his upcoming film Animal; says, “It is completely out of my comfort zone” : Bollywood News

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has given remarkable and versatile performances in several of his films. Ranbir kick started his 2023 with Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar alongside Shraddha Kapoor. He is now gearing up for his next, i.e., Animal that also features Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna.

Talking about Animal, Ranbir told PTI, “It's a new territory for me. It's a crime drama and a father-son story. It's something audiences don't expect me to do. It has got shades of grey. He is very alpha, again something I'm not. So, I'm looking forward to it.” He added, “It is completely out of my comfort zone. As an actor, such challenges are important as it really shook me up. It made me work hard, and realise how inadequate I'm and how much I needed to work to reach a certain level.”

Although Ranbir claimed he hasn't committed to any projects beyond Animal, he is optimistic that the eagerly awaited Kishore Kumar biography with director Anurag Basu will get underway shortly. He said, “The Kishore Kumar biopic has been in discussion for some time. We are still in talks. Basu is working on the script. Apart from that, there is nothing.”

According to Ranbir, film business is undergoing a time of course correction following the pandemic. “There is a correction happening in the industry. To be honest, not many films are being made right now. A lot of actors and stars are sitting at home. I guess people are confused, what is a cinema film, what is an OTT film. It is a confusing time right now. Hopefully, we will come out of it stronger with better ideas and good content,” Ranbir added.

On the professional front, Ranbir Kapoor starrer Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar alongside Shraddha Kapoor released yesterday. The film is directed by Luv Ranjan, produced by Luv Films’, Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, and presented by T- Series’ Bhushan Kumar. Ranbir also has Animal in the pipeline alongside Rashmika Mandanna. Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film also features Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Tripti Dimri.
