Piyush Mishra defends nepotism, calls Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor “real actors”

en Bollywood News Piyush Mishra defends nepotism, calls Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor “real actors”

In a recent interview, Piyush Mishra shared his thoughts on nepotism in Bollywood.

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are undoubtedly two of the biggest names in Bollywood. However, despite their success, the duo is often subjected to criticism for being labelled as 'nepo kids' or products of film industry privilege. In fact, whenever there is a debate about nepotism, they get unasked attention. Speaking on the same line recently, renowned actor Piyush Mishra not only defended nepotism but also called Bhatt and Kapoor “real actors.”

It all happened during his conversation with The Lallantop, where Mishra cited the examples of Ranbir and Alia and said that they succeeded because they actually have talent. In Hindi, he asserted, “Of course it happens. Of course I would want my children to have the best opportunities, what’s wrong in this?”

The Happy Bhag Jayegi actor explained, “People try to launch their children in the film industry, but unfortunately for them, this has only worked very few times. Most people just fizzle out. Ranbir Kapoor succeeded because he’s a real actor, Alia Bhatt is a real actor.”

The Tamasha actor further added, “How many times can you launch somebody? Only once, right? They do it, what’s wrong with this? If you have the money, do it. But these people didn’t get results because they were bad actors. Even though I wanted my children to pursue a career in the film industry, I encouraged them to do theatre. But they came to me and told me they prefer sports.”

He concluded his stance on nepotism by saying, “So my wife and I encouraged them to play sports. Now my elder son is doing sports management, and my younger son wants to be a scientist. Who doesn’t want nepotism? Every person would like this.”

Coming to the professional front, the 60-year-old actor was last seen in Kanjoos Makhichoos, released on ZEE5 starring Kunal Kemmu and Shweta Tripathi Sharma.
