Piyush Mishra on his dwindling friendship with Anurag Kashyap; says, “Our political and ethical views don’t match” : Bollywood News

Piyush Mishra has acted in quite a few films directed by Anurag Kashyap, including Black Friday, Gulaal, Gangs Of Wasseypur, etc. The veteran actor has also contributed as a lyricist in some of his films. However, Mishra has said that he and Anurag have now drifted apart, over the years. He also spoke about the filmmaker’s method of shooting without permission.

Mishra said in an interview with The Lallantop, “If nobody has been arrested after 15 days on an Anurag Kashyap shoot, I get withdrawal symptoms. He loves shooting without permission. Every time, the police comes and arrests a few people. My relationship with him is such that we meet after a few years, but we run out of things to talk about after 15 minutes. We have a coffee and cigarette, and our relationship ends. I run out of things to say, he runs out of things to say, so the conversation ends.”

Mishra pointed out that his differences with Kashyap in political matters is also a reason why they can’t have longer conversations. “Our thoughts don’t match, our political views don’t match, our ethical views don’t match. Our emotional views are the same though. He’s like this bone, stuck in my throat. I can’t swallow it, and I can’t spit it out. That’s our relationship. I can’t sit with him for too long. We don’t have anything to talk about. He’s a cinema buff, and I don’t watch films. What shall I speak to him about?” asked Mishra.

On the work front, Mishra had last acted in the movie Kanjoos Makhichoos. Mainly starring Kunal Khemu and Shweta Tripathi Sharma, the film had released on March 24 on ZEE5. Kashyap is currently gearing up for the release of his police noir film Kennedy, which stars Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone. The movie will be screened at Cannes this year.
