Manoj Bajpayee, Adah Sharma, Madhoo, Vipul Amrutlal Shah, Chinmay Mandlekar and Aashin Shah attended the trailer launch of their film Governor in Mumbai. Since yesterday, Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar have been in the news after FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) passed a non-cooperative resolution against the actor for walking out of Don 3. At the trailer launch, Manoj Bajpayee was asked about it.
The actor began his answer on a light note, “You’re doing a great job, but the place is very wrong (laughs).”
On a serious note, he said, “I must tell you one thing that all the people who are in this industry are only reading about it on social media. We don’t have the detailed information about it. All we can say as colleagues or fellow fraternity members is that we hope the matter is sorted out soon.”
Yesterday, at a press conference, President Birendra Nath Tiwari said, “We feel that the message should go to the industry ki koi superstar niyam se bada nahin hai. Hence, we have put in place a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer from this very day. We would like to inform all the workers and associations that until the dispute is solved and until Ranveer Singh doesn’t meet us, this directive will remain in place. Since this is about the rights of a producer, I would request the producer associations to also lend their support.”
At another point, Manoj Bajpayee said, “Chinmay is very collaborative, adding a lot to the experience. I try my best to convince the director to have at least 7-8 readings. A few directors have reservations about the exercise. But Chinmay is ready to do 50 readings with you. He’s relentless, very hard working and a gem of a person.”
He raised laughs as he revealed, “Chinmay doesn’t even consume alcohol but dances the most whenever he parties with drunk people. After Sharib Hashmi, this is the second person I have met who doesn’t drink but behaves more drunk than the actual drunkards (laughs)!”
Governor releases in cinemas on June 12.
