Bigg Boss OTT Season 2, which kicked off with much fanfare, ended up to be one of the most popular shows on the web with audiences trying to help their favourite idol win. However, their love for their contestant kicked off massive social media wars and trolling wherein fans of Manisha Rani started accusing Jiya Shankar of paying off the media. Upset fans, who disliked Shankar’s chemistry with co-contestant Abhishek Malhan, wanted to extend their support towards Rani by making claims that Jiya paid the paps Rs. 4 lakhs to defame Manisha.
Reacting to the statement, a rather upset Jiya Shankar decided to clarify and furthermore, she responded to these claims in a rather sarcastic manner. Jiya took to the social media platform to share a video, which was later reposted by Bigg Boss OTT, wherein she opened up about these baseless rumours adding, “Guys, seriously I mean, Manisha fans or this ‘Abhisha’ fans rather, I just want to say like what is going on? Like, Tum log ke favorites hain, kisi aur ke koi aur favorites hain. (You have favourites and someone else has favorites too). You don’t have to do all these things ki tum log aise sab daal rahe ho yaar cheeze ki maine Viral Bhayani ko chaar lakh de diye taaki Manisha ko defame kare (You don’t have add that I have done these things like paying four lakhs to Viral Bhayani to defame Manisha).”
“Chaar lakh nahi bhai ek crore diye the. Kya bakwas hai yeh? Aise galat galat news tum log faila rahe ho? Dhang se cheezein pehle find out karo na. Ek crore ka tum logo ne chaar lakh kar diya? Itna mehnat issi liye toh kar rahi thi main. Kya yaar meri PR kuch kaam ki nahi hai (Not four lakhs, gave like Rs. 1 crore. What nonsense is this? Why are you spreading such false news. Find out the right information first. How could claim one crore as four lakhs? Why did I work so hard for this? What yaa, my PR is useless),” added Jiya sarcastically.

In yet another interview, the actress once again addressed these trolls wherein she maintained that she doesn’t have that kind of money to distribute it among paps.
Jiya Shankar appeared in the top six of Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 but was eliminated in the last week. On the other hand, both, Manisha Rani and Abhishek Malhan were among the top three finalists. The show was won Elvish Yadav.
