After a slew of underperforming films this week we see the release of two starkly different films, ROY and MSG: THE MESSENGER. While the first features Jacqueline Fernandez, Arjun Rampal and Ranbir Kapoor, the latter features Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan (Guru ji), who incidentally has a massive following of devotees in northern territories.
As expected reports suggest that ROY has taken off to a good start, with a 50% occupancy rate, while MSG that has opened well in the gentry segment in northern territories is picking up, but at a slower pace.
Overall, ROY is expected to post massive opening day collections, but will have to rely heavily on good word of mouth to post equally good weekend collections. On the other hand, MSG that has started slow is expected to pick up over evening and night shows, with Guruji's ardent followers appreciating the film.
