This week sees the release of two prominent films, GORI TERE PYAAR MEIN! (GTPM) and SINGH SAAB THE GREAT (SSTG), both produced by reputed names. While GTPM is targeted at multiplexes, SSTG is expected to attract footfalls at single screen audience. However, last week's GOLIYON KI RAASLEELA RAM-LEELA is expected to pose a tough fight to the new films, since the film is faring very well at plexes mainly.
Reports coming in from across the country indicate that both GTPM and SSTG have opened to average/decent houses, with the business getting divided. However, the opening of SSTG is excellent at several single screens, while GTPM has an upper hand at plexes of metros mainly. This is not a new trend, since the business stands to get divided when multiple films vie for audience attention. While GTPM is expected to lead at plexes, SSTG is expected to dominate the mass-dominated circuits. The business from Friday evening onwards till Sunday night will be crucial for these two films.
While the new releases of this week are expected to fight it out at the BO, GOLIYON KI RAASLEELA RAM-LEELA is set for a strong second weekend. The film has been doing super business at plexes of metros, with a substantial chunk of revenue coming in from Mumbai city and Gujarat.
