This week we see the release of S.S. Rajmouli's magnum opus BAHUBALI that has released in multiple languages and MINIONS, a Hollywood spin off to highly appreciated animated series DESPICABLE ME. While the first boasts of being India's biggest film both budget and scale wise, the second is a lighthearted comic caper targeted at children.
Reports from across India hold true to the fact that BAHUBALI can be classified as the biggest film with opening occupancy rates being pegged at 50- 60 % for the Hindi and Tamil dubbed versions and a houseful tag for the Telugu version. On the other hand, the Hollywood release MINIONS that features a very limited release in just 300 screens across the country has opened to 30% occupancy rate.
If the reports are anything to go by, then BAHUBALI that has been receiving positive reviews across the board is expected to grow from strength to strength, while MINIONS is expected to fare well over evening and night shows.
