The three new releases, NOT A LOVE STORY, SAHI DHANDHE GALAT BANDE and CHATUR SINGH TWO STARS, opened to poor houses across the country. Much was expected from NOT A LOVE STORY, since the film had been in the news for the right and wrong reasons, but the terrific pre-release reports and the controversies attached to the film did not translate into box-office numbers. The opening response ranged from ordinary to below average. However, this one stands the best chance amongst the three films.
SAHI DHANDHE GALAT BANDE had a poor start everywhere. The film was expected to generate a better start in North India, but the response was tepid. CHATUR SINGH TWO STARS had a slightly better start at some single screens, but the overall response was disappointing.
