Super 30 had a decent start at the Box Office as Rs. 11.83 crores came in. It was predicted that the film would see an opening of at least Rs. 12 crores and the numbers are in whereabouts of that. For a relatively niche film which doesn’t really have a hardcore commercial angle, hero-heroine mandate or quintessential Bollywood ‘naach gaana’, this Vikas Bahl directed affair has still managed a good standing for itself. Since the critical acclaim for the film is there and the word of mouth is positive as well, there is good growth expected today as well as tomorrow.
Hrithik Roshan is coming back to the big screen two and a half years after Kaabil which had seen an opening of Rs.10.43 crores back then. This was on clash with Shah Rukh Khan‘s Raees, but then its release was also during the Republic Day weekend and that helped the collections soar a little. Moreover, it was a far more commercial film in true Bollywood parlance.
The start is there and now it is on the content of the film to do the talking. For producer Sajid Nadiadwala, Super 30 is set to be his highest grossing film when it comes to unconventional films that he has ventured into. Highway had a lifetime number of Rs. 30.61 crores while Tamasha had accumulated Rs. 68 crores. Now Super 30 should go far beyond that as the feedback is much stronger and Hrithik Roshan’s star appeal should further help the cause.
