It’s going to be a quick-fire Rs. 100 Crore Club entry for The Kerala Story. Released last Friday, the film is making the kind of progress at the box office which warrants the Rs. 100 crores mark to be reached inside 10 days itself. In fact, the trend so far indicates that the huge feat would be accomplished on Saturday itself, which would be the ninth day in theatres for the Adah Sharma starrer.
To put things in perspective, The Kashmir Files had narrowly missed out on scoring a century within first week itself as its score back then had read Rs. 97.30 crores. It then went on to have a huge second weekend. On the other hand, The Kerala Story has started bigger and is on a more sustained trajectory rather than exponential. This would ensure a good long run for the film though it has to be seen that where does it eventually end up.
So far though, the film has collected Rs. 68.86 crores, what with Wednesday being huge yet again at Rs. 12 crores. What’s remarkable is that the numbers are even bigger than Tuesday which had seen Rs. 11.14 crores been collected. It would be equally fantastic if the trend continues well till Thursday as well and now the film grows further to get into the Rs. 13 crores zone.
