The Vivek Agnihotri directorial The Kashmir Files starring Anupam Kher released on March 12 in theatres and since then, there has been no stopping the film at the box office. After a modest start with collections of Rs. 3.55 cr, the business of the film witnessed immense growth in collections over its opening weekend. Now, the film has managed to achieve a benchmark of sorts by crossing the much coveted Rs. 100 cr mark.

In this box office report, we take a look at the collections of The Kashmir Files while comparing the same to releases that have hit screens post the pandemic and managed to cross the Rs. 100 cr mark. Collecting Rs. 116.45cr in just 8 days of its release,The Kashmir Films has become the second fastest Rs. 100 cr grosser to release post the pandemic. Though unable to beat Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi that collected Rs. 102.81 cr in just 5 days of its release, The Kashmir Files does manage to surpass other releases like Alia Bhatt – Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi that collected Rs. 117.51 cr in 13 days of its release and Ranveer Singh starrer 83 that collected Rs. 109.02 cr in 17 days of its release.
Going ahead, The Kashmir Files is expected to have a thrilling second weekend in cinemas. Despite facing competition from the new release Bachchhan Paandey, trade predicts that The Kashmir Files will hold steady and might even see further growth in business.
