The Vivek Agnihotri directed venture The Kashmir Files released last week on Friday, and since then there has been no stopping it at the box office. After opening on a decent note with a collection of Rs. 3.55 cr, the business of the Anupam Kher starrer saw immense growth on its opening weekend and week days as well. Now on Day 8, the film has managed to cross the Rs. 100 cr mark.
Collecting Rs. 19.15cr on Day 8, The Kashmir Files has managed to cross the Rs. 100 cr mark within just 8 days of its release. When compared to previous releases, The Kashmir Files has managed to surpass the Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani that managed to cross the Rs. 100 cr mark 9 days after its release.
If that wasn’t enough, The Kashmir Files has managed this feat faster than the Vicky Kaushal starrer Uri – The Surgical Strike as well that had collected Rs. 100 cr in 10 days of its release, and the Aamir Khan starrer 3 Idiots that managed this achievement 10 days after its release.
Interestingly, with The Kashmir Files making it past the Rs. 100 cr mark, Vivek Agnihotri will make his debut in this much coveted club along with Anupam Kher who features as the central protagonist in the film.
Currently, The Kashmir Files continues to run to packed houses across the country, with trade predicting yet another jump in collections over its second weekend in theatres. In fact, if the film maintains its current momentum at the box office it could easily cross the Rs. 150 cr mark in its second week running.
