Dhurandhar The Revenge has entered the Rs. 600 Crore Club, and that too in a record time. In just one week, the film has managed to achieve this feat, something that no one could have ever imagined. There have been a few Rs. 600 Crore Club films like Jawan, Stree 2, Chhaava, and each one of these took several weeks to reach there. Then there is Pushpa 2 (Hindi) and Dhurandhar that straight away crossed the Rs. 700 crores barrier as well and hit the Rs. 800 Crore Club in their lifetime, with latter falling just 4 crores short of the Rs. 900 Crore Club entry.
However, the pace at which the Aditya Dhar film is currently travelling, it’s made for much higher records. By taking just seven and a half days (including Paid Previews) to score Rs. 604 crores so far, the film will find itself in the vicinity of Rs. 650 crores by the time the extended first week comes to a close today. Yesterday, it managed to score Rs. 47 crores and today too the collections would be on the same lines since its partial holiday or Ram Navami.
What would be truly remarkable is to see the kind of collections that come in now in the second weekend. A large section of the audiences that watched Dhurandhar in cinemas has already watched the second part, which means for the film to cover a distance much ahead of its predecessor, it would require a new set of fan base to be built. Given the kind of word of mouth that the Ranveer Singh starrer is enjoying, one can well imagine those who haven’t watched Dhurandhar so far to catch it on OTT already and then make a beeline to watch the second part in theatres in weeks to come.
