100 crores, and counting, on a single day - Yes, you read it right! That’s what Dhurandhar The Revenge has scored, and that too just in Hindi on Sunday. There are just no words to explain what’s really happening at the box office here but the fact remains that even 6 am shows for the film were going housefull on Sunday, and the momentum continues right till night as well, which means the biggest footfalls ever were scored on a single day in the history of India cinema.
The spark that was ignited on Wednesday evening paid preview shows has turned into a complete firestorm as there has been no stopping the film now. After Saturday saw a century being scored, the magic was repeated on Sunday as well as audiences have made this film their own. No amount of (forced) negativity, (irresponsible) spoilers or (very entertaining) excessive length have come in the way of this Aditya Dhar film emerging as ultra-victorious at the box office.
In the process, the Ranveer Singh has now entered the Rs. 400 Crore Club as well in just four and a half days, a feat that has never ever been accomplished before. In fact, the manner in which the film is going currently, the Rs. 500 Crore Club entry would be achieved by end of Tuesday itself and there is an outside chance of Rs. 600 crores mark being breached as well by the time the extended first week comes to a close.
