Less than Rs. 30 crores remain now for the entry of Dhurandhar The Revenge in the Rs. 1000 Crore Club. The film saw further growth on Sunday and though it wasn’t huge when compared to Saturday numbers (Rs. 25 crores), in absolute terms the collections (Rs. 28 crores) are still bigger than the first day numbers of majority of films released in the last 2-3 years.
Such has been the state of film industry, especially since 2025, that even double digit opening days were being celebrated. It’s just that Dhurandhar (2025) changed the tide late last year and then Border 2 (2026) kept the momentum going to a good extent this year followed by re-emergence of Aditya Dhar-Ranveer Singh combo in the form of Dhurandhar The Revenge (2026). As a result, suddenly these Rs. 20 crores and Rs. 30 crores on a daily basis have started looking like a norm.
However, one would need to be really cautious about what happens post these select films. On one end, we are going to welcome India’s first Rs. 1000 Crore Club success in just a single language very soon when Dhurandhar The Revenge achieves this feat, what with its current total standing at Rs. 974 crores. On the other hand, one just hopes that the next set of films arrive with at least Rs. 100-200 crores run on a regular basis with an occasional Rs. 300 Crore Club biggie as well. That would be absolutely required for the industry to continue to thrive.
