The Irrfan Khan – Saba Qamar starrer Hindi Medium released six days ago in the overseas market of China. Directed by Saket Chaudhary the film which enjoyed an extended release in this market has being doing rather well at the China box office. In fact, the business of Hindi Medium that consistently surpassed the collections of the previously released Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan is now beginning to slow down. Despite this, the business of the film has managed to hold strong on its first Monday.
Though good, the collections of Hindi Medium on Day 6 that are pegged at USD 1.27 million [Rs. 8.24 cr] do not manage to surpass the collections of Bajrangi Bhaijaan that had collected USD 1.90 million [Rs. 12.34 cr] on its sixth day at the China box office. However, it needs to be noted that while the sixth day of Bajrangi Bhaijaan marked the start of its second weekend in the Chinese market, in the case of Hindi Medium that released on Wednesday and enjoyed an extended weekend the sixth day was a Monday that usually sees a dip in collections.
However, despite this in terms of overall collections at the China box office, Hindi Medium that has raked in USD 22.60 million [Rs. 146.68 cr] still manages to place higher than Bajrangi Bhaijaan that had collected USD 14 million [Rs. 90.94 cr] in its six day run.
