The Saket Choudhry directed film Hindi Medium seems to be on a roll at the China box office. After surpassing the collections of previous releases like Dangal and Bajrangi Bhaijaan on the first two consecutive days the business of the Irrfan Khan – Saba Qamar starrer has managed to do the same on Day 3 as well in China. In fact, Hindi Medium has now become the second highest Day 3 Bollywood grosser in China just after the Aamir Khan film Secret Superstar.
Collecting USD 6.04 million [Rs. 39.21 cr] at the China box office Hindi Medium has surpassed the business of Aamir Khan’s Dangal that had collected USD 5.55 million [Rs. 35.86 cr.] and Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan that had collected USD 3.13 million [Rs. 20.36 cr] on their respective third day. However, Secret Superstar that had collected USD 9.80 million [Rs. 62.68 cr] still continues to remain as the highest third day Bollywood grosser at the China box office.
As for Hindi Medium, the film seems to be enjoying a stellar run at the Chinese box office with its opening weekend collections being pegged at USD 15.74 million [Rs. 102.18 cr]. If blowing past the Rs. 100 crore mark in China wasn’t enough, Hindi Medium still continues to run finding favour among the Chinese audience. Currently expectations are that the film might just emerge as one of the highest grossing Bollywood films in China.
