The Akshay Kumar–Bhumi Pednekar starrer Toilet – Ek Prem Katha has brought cheer in the film industry that was facing the onslaught of multiple flops week after week. The Shree Narayan Singh-directed film had a decent opening at Rs. 13.10 cr. But on Saturday, the film did exceptionally well. The trade was amazed to see a 30% growth with the movie earning Rs. 17.10 cr on Day 2.
And that's not all. The film is doing even better today (Sunday). The collections have seen a 10% jump already as compared to Day 2 and hence the third day collections are expected to be in the range of Rs. 18 to 19 cr. This will translate into a healthy weekend of around 48 to 49 crores for the movie.
With Independence Day holiday on Tuesday August 15 and also Janmashtami and Parsi New Year holidays in the weekdays, Toilet – Ek Prem Katha is expected to have an extraordinary week 1. Good times have finally come!
