The much talked about dance film featuring Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Nora Fatehi and Prabhu Dheva released yesterday. Directed by Remo Dsouza Street Dancer 3D that released across 3700 screens was expected to open on a high note, especially after receiving positive reviews from the critics.
In this box office report we take a look at the opening day collections of Street Dancer 3D while comparing the same to Varun Dhawan’s previous releases. Collecting Rs. 10.26 cr Street Dancer 3D has managed to beat Varun’s earlier release Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania that had collected Rs. 9.02 cr to become his fifth highest opening day grosser. Besides this film, the business of Street Dancer 3D has recorded better collections than other releases like Sui Dhaaga that collected Rs. 8.3 cr, Student of the Year that collected Rs. 7.48 cr, Badlapur that collected Rs. 7 cr, and Main Tera Hero that had collected Rs. 6.60 cr.
As of now Street Dancer 3D still continues to run in theatres, and with positive word of mouth the business of the film which is a family entertainer is expected to see good growth over the weekend.
NOTE: For the purpose of listing Varun Dhawan’s highest grossers we have not included the film Dilwale that had collected Rs. 21 cr on its opening day, since it did not feature Varun in a solo lead role.
