It has been a week since we saw the release of Simmba starring Ranveer Singh. Directed by Rohit Shetty the film which released last Friday has been virtually unstoppable at the box office with collections seeing good growth with each passing day.
Now after a week’s run, we take a look at the opening week collections of Simmba while comparing the same to Ranveer Singh’s previous releases. Collecting Rs. 150.81 cr Simmba has managed to become Ranveer’s second highest opening week grosser. Though the business of Simmba does not surpass the collections of Ranveer’s previous releases Padmaavat that had collected Rs. 166.5 cr, it manages to out beat his other releases like Bajirao Mastani that collected Rs. 86.15 cr, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela that collected Rs. 82.15 cr, Gunday that collected Rs. 63.08 cr, Dil Dhadkne Do that collected Rs. 56.1 cr, and Befikre that collected Rs. 50.43 cr.
Currently, Simmba still continues to run in theatres facing almost no competition from new and previous releases. If that wasn’t enough, with strong word of mouth and audience appreciation the business of Simmba is expected to continue to see growth over its second weekend and second week as well.
