The Akshay Kumar, Ileana D'Cruz and Esha Gupta starrer Rustom that released last week was based on the Nanavati case. The film which was well received by the audience has been doing brisk business at the box office.In this box office analysis we take a look at the Opening Week collections of Rustom while comparing them to Akshay Kumar's previously released films. Not surprisingly Rustom that collected Rs. 90.90 cr ranks as Akshay's highest opening week grosser out beating the actor's previous releases like Housefull 3 that collected Rs. 80.1 cr, Rowdy Rathore that collected Rs. 79.52 cr, Airlift that collected Rs. 78.5 cr and Singh Is Bliing that collected Rs. 77.6 cr.
But with Rustom still continuing its run in theatres, all that is left to be seen is whether the film becomes Akshay's highest grosser till date.
