Rock On 2 hasn't done well at all in its first week. The film has collected just Rs. 10.5 crore* in its first week and that is pretty much similar to what Rock On [2008] had done [Rs. 10 crore] in its first week. That film has still went on to gain from good word of mouth in select cities and almost tripled its business for the lifetime total [Rs. 28 crore]. However, since Rock On 2 has been rejected in a big way, the film would see curtains drop by end of second week with lifetime collections set to stay below Rs. 15 crore.
The film is a ride shock for Farhan Akhtar since it would now be competing with his lowest grosser till date (as an actor), Luck By Chance [2009] that had collected Rs. 13.5 crore. Even Karthik Calling Karthik had done Rs. 22 crore. Arjun Rampal has quickly moved on to Kahaani 2 and that's the right thing to do since the film is second in the series of a much loved Kahaani. Shraddha Kapoor would like to put Rock On 2 as an aberration as this is a rare flop that she has seen in a career that has only seen highs since Aashiqui 2.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is inching its way ahead and has collected Rs. 109.75 crore* so far. Shivaay too has stepped into fourth week with Rs. 98.25 crore* in its kitty so far.
