The Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba has been on a roll at the box office since its release last Friday. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film that faced little to no competition has been raking in the moolah. Now, we hear that the business of Simmba has managed to surpass the business of the Salman Khan starrer Race 3 within the Mumbai circuit.
Collecting Rs. 51.07 cr within the Mumbai circuit, Simmba has eclipsed the collections of Salman Khan’s Race 3 that had collected Rs. 48.87 cr within the same circuit. Besides Race 3, the collections of Simmba have also managed to surpass the business of other big ticket releases like Baaghi 2 that collected Rs. 46.18 cr, Raazi that collected 42.09 cr, and even Thugs of Hindostan that collected Rs. 41.96 cr. However, the business of Simmba within the Mumbai circuit has not managed to out beat the collections of certain other releases like Sanju that collected Rs. 102.39 cr, Padmaavat that collected Rs. 81.29 cr, the Hollywood action flick Avengers Infinity War that collected 56.57 cr, and the Akshay Kumar – Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 that collected Rs. 52.99 cr.
But, given the fact that Simmba still enjoys the audience’s favour and continues to run to packed houses well through its first week, expectations are that the film is more than likely to surpass the collections of other releases within the Mumbai circuit.
