The Rohit Shetty directed film Simmba starring Ranveer Singh released last week. The much talked about venture opened to a stunning start at the box office with audience flocking cinemas. Released across 4020 screens Simmba that also features Sara Ali Khan has managed to make it past the Rs. 100 cr mark at the domestic box office.
If crossing Rs. 100 cr in four days wasn’t enough, the box office success of the film now sees Ranveer Singh joining the likes of Varun Dhawan, Ranbir Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan with four films that have made it past the Rs. 100 cr mark. In case of the Ranveer, the actor made his debut in the much coveted Rs. 100 cr club with the 2013 film Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela that managed to garner Rs. 116.33 cr at the box office. Following this Ranveer next releases to enter the Rs. 100 cr club were Bajirao Mastani that raked in Rs. 184.2 cr and the Padmaavat that collected a staggering Rs. 302.15 cr.
While on one hand Ranveer Singh’s films have been rather consistently raking in the moolah at the box office, on the other the actor himself is climbing the success ladder. When compared to peers in the industry whose releases have crossed Rs. 100 cr at the box office, Ranveer Singh currently ranks sixth on the list. Though Singh shares this spot with Varun Dhawan, Ranbir Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan, he seems set to take over the fifth spot that is currently held by Aamir Khan.
