Finally, there is a movie that’s showing better collections on the second day when compared to the first. Of course that’s a basic and a very bare minimum requirement. However things are so bad for the industry in the current times that sustenance is being celebrated and growth is considered to be something truly remarkable.
In case of PhoneBhoot, some sort of growth has come in and even that’s being noticed, despite the fact that the collections should actually have gone even bigger. However one needs to look at things in perspective with how the current times are and hence a growth of around 35%, albeit on a score like Rs. 2.05 crores, is not a bad deal either. The spoof horror comedy ended up getting Rs. 2.75 crores on Saturday and with that the total has reached Rs. 4.80 crores. One now waits to see the kind of growth that comes in today so that the film can cross 8 crores mark by the time the weekend is through.
As for Kantara (Hindi), it is continuing to show good day by day growth over the weekends, as has been the trend for the earlier three weeks as well. From Rs. 2.10 crores that it collected on Friday; the film jumped quite well to Rs. 4.15 crores on Saturday, which is a very healthy number. One also needs to look at this in perspective that this is the fourth week in the running and even the biggest of blockbusters don’t quite manage these kind of numbers on their 30th day. However what’s working in favour of Kantara (Hindi) is that audiences are still waking up to it, which means there is going to be further ample growth over Rs. 57.90 crores that it has collected so far.
