The Kartik Aaryan – Sara Ali Khan starrer Love Aaj Kal released last week on Friday. Directed by Imtiaz Ali the film opened to mixed reviews. However, thanks to the immense promotion and good rate of advance booking the opening day business of Love Aaj Kal saw impressive collections.

Collecting Rs. 28.51 cr on its opening weekend Love Aaj Kal has managed to beat the collections of Malang that had collected Rs. 25.36 cr to emerge as the third highest opening weekend grosser of 2020. Though the collections of Love Aaj Kal do not manage to surpass other releases like Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior that collected Rs. 61.75 cr, and Street Dancer 3D that had collected Rs. 39 cr, the business of the film has surpassed other releases like Chhapaak that collected Rs. 19.02 cr, Panga that collected Rs. 14.91 cr, Jawaani Jaaneman that collected Rs. 12.83 cr, and Shikara that collected Rs. 4.95 cr.
Now all that remains to be seen is whether Love Aaj Kal survives the Monday test or will the film succumb to the mixed reviews and less than appreciative word of mouth.
