Judwaa 2 is continuing its record breaking journey. Yet another milestone has been reached, this time for Varun Dhawan, what with the film going past Rs. 116.68 crore lifetime total of his highest grossing solo release till date - Badrinath Ki Dulhania. On its second Monday the film collected Rs. 2.91 crore more and with this the overall numbers stand at Rs. 119.09 crore. This is tremendous indeed since the feat has been accomplished in 11 days flat.
There is quite some ammunition still left for the film as there is no competition whatsoever from the past, current week or the one ahead. The stage is set for the David Dhawan directed film to continue bringing in moolah. The pace at which it is going, a lifetime of Rs. 130 crore is on the cards and that would be a very good result for the film, especially in the current times when even star driven affairs are struggling for a lifetime of Rs. 13 crore!
Judwaa 2 has been a great way for producer Sajid Nadiadwala to close the year on a fantastic note as it is now also his second biggest grosser ever since Kick. Yet again, he has scored with an out and out massy film hence showing all over again that he knows the pulse of mass audiences. For Fox, it is continuation of the good run that they are enjoying and the choice of films that they have picked up especially in the last couple of years is helping them gain a very good strike rate that has allowed them more successes than disappointments.
