The Irrfan Khan - Saba Qamar starrer Hindi Medium released a few weeks ago. The film which hit screens alongside the Arjun Kapoor – Shraddha Kapoor starrer Half Girlfriend started off on a slow note. However, with positive reviews and good audience feedback the business of Hindi Medium has witnessed growth over the weeks post its release.
In this special report we take a look at the third week collections of Hindi Medium while comparing them to previously released film of 2017 that have made it to the third week. Collecting Rs. 12.57 cr in its third week in theatres Hindi Medium has become the second highest third week grosser. In fact the film has manages to surpass previous releases like the Varun Dhawan – Alia Bhatt starrer Badrinath Ki Dulhania that had collected Rs. 11.39 cr, the Akshay Kumar starrer Jolly LLB 2 that had collected Rs. 8.52 cr and even the Hrithik Roshan starrer Kaabil that had collected Rs. 3.9 cr.
On the other hand, though Hindi Medium has received positive appreciation from the audience and critics, the film which released across 1126 screens does not manage to surpass the third week collections of the mega hit Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion that had raked in Rs. 69.75 cr in its third week.
Looking at this collection trend it is safe to say that films that have satiated the audience’s thirst for entertainment and good content work better than films that feature just big star names.
