Golmaal Again has reached a stage from where it is now crossing lifetime numbers of other major successes with every passing day. On Saturday, it registered fantastic collections all over again as Rs. 28.37 crore more came in. With this the overall collections have now touched Rs. 58.51 crore. Now this is indeed fantastic since with this the Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty film has gone past the lifetime numbers [52 crore] of their second Golmaal film, Golmaal Returns [2008], in two days flat.
Of course that film had released nine years back and hence inflation and ticket price needs to be taken into account as well. Still, the margin between Golmaal Returns lifetime and two days of Golmaal Again is around 20% and that is pretty huge as well. This pretty much goes on to show how the franchise has gathered pace over a passage of time and now the fourth in the series has not just lived up to the expectations in a huge way but has also gone much beyond that.
Next target for the film is the lifetime number of third in the series, Golmaal 3. Released in 2010, that film had garnered Rs. 106 crore at the end of its run. The pace at which Golmaal Again is currently going, while it is a given that the 100 crore mark would be crossed, it would be some challenge for the film to manage 106 crore in three days flat. However, even if that doesn't happen, the milestone would be accomplished at the beginning of fourth day itself, which would be an exceptional feat as well.
