Rohit Shetty is certainly a happy man today, especially since his latest directorial venture Golmaal Again which is the fourth instalment in the hit Golmaal franchise has been doing very well at the domestic box office.
In this box office report we take a look at the opening weekend collections of Golmaal Again that released across 3500+ screens in the domestic market while comparing the same to Rohit Shetty’s previous directorial ventures. Collecting Rs. 87.60 cr Golmaal Again has managed to claim the second spot among the director’s highest opening weekend grossers list. Though the list is firmly led by Rohit Shetty’s previous directorial venture Chennai Express that had collected Rs. 100.42 cr, Golmaal Again has managed to surpass the collections of Shetty’s other films like Singham Returns that collected Rs. 77.69 cr, Dilwale that collected Rs. 65.09 cr, Bol Bachchan that collected Rs. 43.10 cr, Golmaal 3 that collected Rs. 33.58 cr, and Singham that collected Rs. 30.98 cr.
But given the current trend, Golmaal Again that continues to run in theatres despite facing competition is expected to do brisk business over the ensuing weekdays as well. Now all that remains to be seen is whether the overall collections of Golmaal Again surpass the business of Rohit Shetty’s other releases to emerge as the director’s highest grossing film.
