As expected, there was a major drop in collections for both Dunki and Salaar (Hindi). With the holiday season coming to a close, this was always on the cards. Moreover, it was also a very long duration of festivals, holidays and partial holidays as it spread over 11 days for Salaar (Hindi) and 12 days for Dunki (given its Thursday release). Hence, those who wanted to venture out of their house and step into theatres with friends and families had already done that in abundance.
Even otherwise, neither of the two films has stormed the box office scene with mixed appreciation amongst their target audience. Hence, it was going to be all about getting the maximum mileage during this time duration gone by and then hang in there till Fighter arrives on January 25. In that sense, both the films are really lucky to have found the best ever time period for their theatrical arrival and then be sans any competition for more than one month.
Coming to Tuesday collections, there was less than Rs. 10 crores coming in between the two films. While Dunki brought in Rs. 3.75 crores more, Salaar (Hindi) stood at Rs. 3.75 crores. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer has achieved a good milestone though by inching towards the Rs. 200 Crores Club and standing at Rs. 187.52 crores. On the other hand, Salaar (Hindi) has netted Rs. 129.70 crores and should go past Adipurush (Hindi) lifetime of Rs. 136 crores soon.
