Portraying the real life story of wrestler-coach Mahavir Phogat, the much awaited Aamir Khan starrer Dangal released this week. The film, which also marks the debut of Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra, has opened to a great response in Indian as well as overseas market.
In this box office report, we will compare the collections of the recently released film with the lifetime collections of other Bollywood releases overseas in 2016. According to the reports, Dangal has already become the 5th top overseas grosser by the close of Day 3 [Saturday] by surpassing Airlift. Reported collections till Friday evening for Dangal were pegged at 6.63 mil. USD with several screens yet to report.
Considering the phenomenal response the film has been receiving, the film may move up the ladder to the no.2 spot in the chart which is currently occupied by Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. What remains to be seen is if the Aamir Khan starrer can surpass the collections of the 2016’s biggest blockbuster by far, Sultan.
