Baahubali 2 [Hindi] is continuing to rewrite records with every passing day. On Monday it did something that just cannot be explained at all. With Rs. 40.25 crore coming in, the film has now set a new record for Monday. Never before has a film come anywhere close to scoring such high collections on Monday but then Baahubali 2 is anyways doing everything that has never happened before. Yes, there was a partial holiday due to Labor Day. However, there has been this holiday in the past as well and has seldom been leveraged. Baahubali 2 is doing this and that is due to the inherent strength that it carries.
The film has now already hit the Rs. 168.25 crore mark and that means an average of Rs. 40 crore has been maintained on each of the four days since the film has hit the screens. Again, a record that would really need a 'Baahubalian' movie to even come close to! SS Rajamouli has scored a kind of success that could well have been considered a fable till a few years back but has now emerged as a reality.
Today is now the first major working day since the film's release and hence it would be interesting to see where does it eventually land up. The manner in which it is going so far, and the fact that advance booking for the film is very high, it won't be surprising if the film gains another day in excess of Rs. 30 crore. Now that would be stupendous for this Prabhas-Rana Daggubati-Anushka Shetty starrer that is making huge waves down South as well and fetching record breaking collections there too.
For now, what can be said is that the film is neither a Blockbuster nor an All Time Blockbuster. A new word needs to be invented for the film's Box Office run so far and the most apt could well be - BAAHUBUSTER!
