It has already been a month since we stepped into 2017, and we have already witnessed the first big screen clash of the year in January with Kaabil and Raees going head to head. Starting off the month of February is the Akshay Kumar starrer Jolly LLB 2, which is a sequel to the 2013 Arshad Warsi – Boman Irani starrer Jolly LLB.
The film that also features Huma Qureshi has been in the news much before its release; it has found itself being dragged into trouble. However, despite facing a few hurdles, Jolly LLB 2 managed to release on Friday without any hassle. In this special report we take a look at the Opening Day collection of Jolly LLB 2 while comparing the same to the previously released films of 2017.
Collecting Rs. 13.2 cr. on opening day, the Akshay Kumar starrer Jolly LLB 2 surpasses the Hrithik Roshan starrer Kaabil that had collected Rs. 10.43 cr to claim the spot as the second highest opening day grosser of 2017. On the other hand leading the list is the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Raees that had released alongside Kaabil, collecting Rs. 20.42 cr, while the Shraddha Kapoor – Aditya Roy Kapur starrer Ok Jaanu comes in fourth with collections of Rs. 4.08 cr.
Now, given the fact that Jolly LLB 2 enjoys a solo release with little to no competition from the previously release films. Raees and Kaabil the Subhash Kapoor directed film which has received positive reviews is expected to post good figures over the weekend.
