Batla House has taken a good opening. On Thursday, the film collected Rs. 15.55 crores at the box office. Though the start in the morning shows was average, by the time late afternoon and evening shows commenced, the footfalls started gaining good momentum and as a result the numbers turned out to be good.
The film has seen a good release for itself at over 3000 screens with good penetration particularly at the single screen theatres. Of course the collections are a little lesser than predicted number of Rs. 18 crores. Still, what the film has gathered at the box office is good enough and it amongst the Top-10 of the year.
Batla House did gain from the fact that it released on Independence Day. However that advantage was also evened out due to clash with Mission Mangal which has collected almost double. That said, Batla House is a very good entertainer for the audiences which means by the time the extended weekend is through, the word of mouth would have spread well. That should allow a good sustained run for this John Abraham and Nikkhil Advani film.
